Piggies
Luciana's new babies came to live with us Friday night. We adopted them from WI Guinea Pig Rescue. One of the women who is involved with the rescue builds these great, huge cages for the piggies. She uses closet shelving, and they are brilliantly simple and cheap! She brought the supplies and built the cage right in the bird room, because that's the only way it would fit in the room. It's 3' x 7' and is divided into two units. It's raised, and there's plenty of room underneath both to store supplies and for the rabbits to play in. That's also one of the most poorly constructed sentences I've ever read, but I'm too lazy to work on reconstructing it right now.
She brought home 3 girls for now with more to follow later. She named them Blossom, Pansy, and Daffodil. They're quite cute! They're shy yet, and don't like to be picked up, but once they're out are happy to cuddle up in our laps. It's nice to have guinea pigs again. I wasn't thrilled about Luciana's proposition, but I'm glad I finally caved in to her nagging.
