Out of the woods
The two remaining kittens and mommy cat have made it through the worst and are rapidly showing improvement. Harley has started to fill in and look much more alert. She is also being a good little mother--watching the kittens, calling to them, grooming them, letting them suckle (even though there's not much there now). She has the sweet cuddly disposition she has had all along, plus a healthy new sparkle in her eye. The kittens, with working names of Pink and Floyd, get stronger and naughtier by the hour. They are climbing, pouncing, wrestling, and exploring every minute that they aren't snuggled up sleeping. They love to cuddle up to us too when they get tired and ready to pass out. They like to play with fingers--trying to wrestle and pounce on them. They are so entertaining!
I am anxiously awaiting Luciana & Mark's return from Villa Park, where they've been since yesterday. Mark's brother, Mike, and his family are visiting from NJ. I couldn't leave the kittens and had a big protest today that I couldn't miss. I spoke with them before bed last night and they were both having a good time with the family. Dej had to work every day this weekend, so she was home with me.
Today's Petland protest was GREAT! We had a lot of people there, including the kids that we met at the last circus protest. We had so many people, we actually ran out of signs! That's a first! We also had a ton of positive feedback/support from the community.
